Anuppur Thermal Powerproject – Phase-I

The thermal arm is developing 2520 MW coal based Thermal Powerproject in Anuppur district, Madhya Pradesh. The project is planned to be executed in two phases as follows:

Phase - I: 1200 MW (2X600 MW)
Phase - II: 1320 MW (2X660 MW)

Highlights

  • The Phase-I of 1200 MW (2X600 MW) through its SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) i.e. MB Power Madhya Pradesh Limited (MBPMPL) has been commissioned & under commercial operation since April 2016;
  • Coal for the project is being sourced from South Eastern Coalfields and water sourced from River Son;
  • Direct connectivity of the Project to the National Grid to enhance reliability, economy and minimize system losses;
  • 85% of power tied up with distribution utilities of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh & Haryana under long term as well as medium term PPA; balance power is being sold through bilateral arrangements and through power exchanges;
  • In the last FY 2018-19, the Plant is operating at an average annual availability of more than 85% since declared under commercial operation
  • FGD implementation schedule for Phase-I – Unit 1: March 2022; Unit 2: June 2022;
  • Robust CSR policy in place with various schemes for livelihood, health & sanitation, education & digital literacy program, vocational training centers, farm-based intervention schemes etc;
  • Almost 100% ash disposal on annual basis has been achieved in FY 2018-19 including almost 40% ash being lifted & utilized by cement manufacturers.

Anuppur Thermal Powerproject Phase-II (2x660 MW)

Highlights

  • 100% land as required has been acquired.
  • Water linkage in place;
  • REIA study & Public Consultation done; MoEF & CC to be approached with changed coal source;
  • Stack Height clearance from Airport Authority of India in place;
  • Detailed Engineering has been almost completed & readiness to award EPC Contract achieved;
  • PPA signed with MPPMCL for supply of 5% of the Net Power generated on annualized basis, at Energy Charges as determined and approved by the appropriate Commission;

Janjgir Thermal Powerproject (2x660 MW)

Highlights

  • MoU signed with Government of Chhattisgarh in Sep 2008 & IA signed in August 2010;
  • 100% land as required has been acquired;
  • MoEF & CC clearance is subjected to coal availability;
  • Water Linkage Approval from WRD from River Mahanadi is in place;
  • Coal linkage shall be secured under SHAKTI policy or coal blocks through auction;
  • Connectivity granted by Power grid from 765/400 KV Champa Pooling Sub-station, located around 65 KM from project site;
  • All statutory clearances viz. Chimney Height Clearance, Forest NoC, in principle approval for Railway Siding have already been obtained;
  • PPA signed with Chhattisgarh State Power Trading Co. Ltd, for supply of 5% of the Net Power generated on annualized basis, at Energy Charges as determined and approved by the appropriate Commission.
